Slammed door does not mean shut
When a door is slammed you cannot enter inside ,
And yet when the hand touches the handle it does open up,
But when the door is bolted it needs a key to enter in,
Why do we lock the door when the entrance is profound?
To keep the thief out of the dwelling is not the reason why,
They keep on coming because we made stealing profitable,
They will steal money or something of value and are done.
Or have we afforded a new way to finance thief lives.
The door is an omen to make things happen in our lives,
We pretend that all is copacetic when the door is locked,
When reality has the power for any intruder to enter in,
Making the lock a nuisance to a thief, but he gets in,
To look for things that he has immediate need and want,
Who can stop an intruder when his mind is made to steel,
He knows that we are helpless let his take and harm us not.
Or have we afforded a new way to finance thief lives.
Centuries had covered the door with potato sackcloth,
No one needed a key to move the cloth and enter in,
It was an obvious notion to have neighbors bring presents,
There was no door to keep them out they just walked in,
And brought a meal for the family to share and eat,
It was expected for the neighbor to share the meals cooked,
Not expecting a reward for a deed well and happily done.
They did not afford a new way encouraging stealing a meal.
What about to day, life has changed thief’s demand, not a job,
They take money from innocent people, who live in a house,
Not realizing that a thief has dropped by demanding money,
The purpose of need is the question why the thief came up,
If he can be appeased with a small amount let him have it,
Tell the police what he looked like they may find him,
The judge will have the honour to impose a fine and jail time,
The thief was not afforded a new way to finance his live.
